OUR STORY

The History Behind the Farmstead
Farmstead on Owl Creek is owned by members of a family that began farming the area in 1924. While the particular parcel on which Farmstead on Owl Creek is located was added to the farm in 1960, the McCullough family created a homeplace and original farm, which is about four miles away, in November 1924. The vintage farming implements you see on the property were used for many years on the original farm.
The children of the family were taught to love God and each other, and to cherish and tend the land. The owners of Farmstead on Owl Creek are Andy Freeman and Janine McCullough Freeman. Andy, a creative at heart, wanted to build a rustic antique store for his retirement years. Several years ago, he began gathering reclaimed wood and other materials from tearing down old houses and barns. He also began collecting beautiful cedar from nearby areas. He finished the main building in 2017 and maintained a store there until 2025, at which time he decided to transition the property into a unique event venue. Andy also repurposed and remodeled the antique pole barn into what is now the Dance Hall.

This land has been cherished by the McCullough/Freeman family for over a century, and we are excited for it to become a part of your story.
